Consumer Electronics Show aka CES had the largest Electric Vehicle turn out in it's history

The 2012 International CES was the largest in the event's 44 year history, with a record number of more than 3,100 exhibitors covering 1.861 million net square feet of exhibit space. They had more than 153,000 participators, including more than 34,000 international attendees. Over 20,000 new products were launched at the 2012 CES. Top executives gave keynote sessions, including those from Qualcomm, Mercedes, Wal-Mart, Intel, Ford, Verizon, Chevy, eBay, GE, Google and Facebook. Executive delegations from thousands of global companies, from Apple to Zeo, attended the 2012 CES to meet with current and future customers.

Panasonic displayed Tokai University's solar car from Japan.
Tokai University near Tokio Japan sponcered by Panasonic technology built a solar car that won the world solar car race through Australia in 2011 they traveled farther than 3,000 km (1,800 miles) through the remote outback, avoiding a bushfire while dodging kangaroos and other wildlife.


This is KIA's offering it's not sold in America only Korea at this time but I really liked their show girl.
I had a great time even though I could only spend an hour there hooked up with some new battery companies and am still sorting through all the information. Lloyd, showed some great CES pictures at our January meeting and gave us a lot of info but has yet sent me an email with the pics, when he does we will finish this article.
International Electric Vehicle Racing Le Mans Series Championships GOING GREEN:
The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón (ALMS) will combine their respective areas of expertise in 2012 at the start of a new global initiative to develop the next generation of sustainable motorsport.
The world’s first and most powerful all-electric GT racing car has already been designed, built and tested in extreme conditions by Quimera. Powertrain up to 600kw with carbon fiber chassis. The category will allow for inventive bodywork design that complies with all sanctioned safety regulations. HELLO EARTHLINGS !

Well our Saturday meeting was a out in orbit success, Bill Ross a rep, from Nissan
showed up with a 2012 Nissan Leaf all electric.

lots of us were honered to take a test drive. As I test drove it, I was thinking "Elwood just take it home" hhuummm! I was very impressed with the feel of a new car FREE OF GASOLINE! Anyone

Other news--The Brandy Family with their DeLorean Conversion also showed up and gave an excellent presentation on the Delorean Motor Company's EV prototype. DMC is working with electric-car startup Epic EV to put an all-electric DMC-12 into production by 2013. Check out this video on (abc)NEWS:

The Chevy Volt is Motor Trends 2011 car of the year. The base suggested retail price for the 2011 Chevrolet Volt in the U.S. was US$40,280 before the US$7,500 U.S. federal tax credit and additional incentives are available in some locations. The 2012 Volt base price is US$1,005 less than the 2011 model, as features have been removed from the base configuration.
